Your alarm proc does iterate over all controls on the active form and gets their coordinates until you find the one in the middle (that's the HS button). Then you put a ctlSelect event in the queue.
I would still like to hear from someone from Palm. The Bluetooth wizard had just created a new conection profile and it managed to switch to hotsync, chnge te sync prefence from Crade/Cable to the new Bluetooth connection it just created and then launched the sync. It seems there is a way to programatically select a local sync other than cradle/cable. I don't understand why this techinique isn't documented.
I would guess it's some info which only licencees know about, or maybe PalmOne changed the code for the Hotsync app. IIRC, the hotsync app comes from PalmSource.
