I make no claims to being a database expert, but the "mystery" databases
have to be coming from somewhere.

There are two ways that I know of to create a database on a Palm device, by
name and creator ID, and from an image.

1. Could there be an issue with the conduit? Is it looking for a database
of a particular type, and, not finding one, creating an empty one?
(Have you examined the empty database and any preferences database
associated with it get some idea to what application these database files
relate?)

2. Could your application be creating an empty database from the image of
another one already on your Palm or transferred
by means of the conduit?

I hope you receive more insightful comments from others.
