then you haven't seem my laptop and some of the environments i build for.

every platform has its own little quirks and issues - it really comes down to
how well you can manage the development kits to do exactly what you need
to have done - most importantly, instead of complaining - do something about it.

if you have committed yourself to a closed source product; demand support.
that will only go so far (metrowerks/palmsource). if you are using an open
source toolchain, you have access to the source code in which you can fix
some of the issues yourself.

regarding development lists - they have slowly died off over the past two years.
they used to be *very* active; but now since Palm OS is becoming more
commercialized - the "hacker" and "fun" community is dying.

there are plenty of other platforms - you dont have to develop for palmos.
