I am here, I like PalmOS and I want to develop for it, but I do not want to have to do things like writing my own linker to do that. Maybe that's some people's bag, but it's not mine, and I suspect many other developers are also being pushed to other OSes by the lack of decent tools and support.
I know that I am tired of fighting to get Palm and PalmSource to provide us with a decent development environment. Moving away from CodeWarrior was a start, but PODS should have been able to do what CodeWarrior does *on release*. That it still cannot EIGHTEEN months later makes me think that they do not want to support developers properly. That it was planned to support Linux, but still does not EIGHTEEN months later makes me think that they do not want to support developers properly. That tools written outside Palm have to be used to provide basic functionality EIGHTEEN months later makes me think that they do not want to support developers properly. That one guy ( no matter how helpful he is ) seems to be supporting all the external developers makes me think that they do not want to support developers properly. -- For information on using the PalmSource Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
