But my app registers itself (at normal launch time > _appStart()) with the phone library and unregisters itself at _appStop(). Doesn't doing that eliminate that problem? I sent a patch to the client using John's hint (dummy db created at notification time, presence of which is checked for periodically in "normal" main loop, with _appStop() invoked if dummy db found).
