I think it would be a Really Good Thing if Access/Palmsource would
publish a white paper at the earliest possible time, specifying what
the Access Palm Linux system actually is. This would help keep the
Palm developers on the bandwagon, and give us something to work with.

Right now, about all we know that it has a 2.6 kernel, GTK+, SQLite an
GStreamer, and the press release doesn't say much more.

I'd like to be assured that all Linux system calls will be supported,
or be told exactly which won't. I'd like a description of the
architecture of ALP, and be given a list of libraries that
sure to be included with the system. What filesystems will be
supported, and what does the file system heirarchy look like?
What services will ALP be running? Does ALP use a System V or
BSD startup sequence, or something different? How will developing
native code on ALP be different than developing a GTK+ program on
a PC Linux distribuition? Etc.
