...which leads either to a timeout in the later NetLibReceive (or, in my case NetLibDmReceive) *or* in the remote server disconnecting (because it timed out waiting for the command we thought we sent but it never received). My code works fine in all real devices and on the emulator but since I am adding SSL which is only available in 5.* OS versions, I need to move off the Emulator onto the Simulator. Please hear me when I say that, although the problem appears to be with NetLibReceive, it is definitely with NetLibSend. I verified this by installing TDIMON.EXE on my PC and watching what actually goes in/out on all sockets. As a further quirk, I note that AppNetLib (and AppNetLibTest.prc) doing pretty much the same thing but for HTTP (I am doing NNTP and SMTP) *DOES* work (source code available in Palm KB). So the situation is not hopeless: TCP with NetLib *can* work on the simulator! Even though I have working code to examine, I don't see anything that it does any differently than I am doing! -- For God, Family and Republic!
