Hi,
I'm a user of pFuel with a Treo, so one-handed navigation will be very
useful!
I'm a user of pFuel but with a Palm IIxe only. (If you have a spare
Treo, I can find a need for it ;-) ).
The one hand mode is comming. The Add Form can be used with one hand.
But I think hilighting in pre-OS 5.2 has to be done manually, i.e. you
have to draw the button yourself.
Can you change the background of the button easily ?
The problem is the Main form where you can select an item in the table.
I know how to deal with that. You set the focus on one row (or row,
column) and the item is highlighted (background becomes black).
The problem is how to let the user navigate between the 3 buttons at the
bottom. How to give a feedback to the user to tell him, if you push the
"select button" (on the Treo the center of the 5-way, on a Palm IIIxe it
will be the Hardware button "Note") The Graph button will be triggered.
One-handed navigation support, pre-OS 5 was done in several different
ways. Sony had the clickwheel (but the Sony developer kit is no longer
available), Kyocera 7135s have a center select button between the normal
up/down buttons. So it might be most profitable to focus your attention
on supporting OS 5.0 devices. There's a Knowledge Bank article on this at
http://kb.palmsource.com/cgi-bin/palmsource.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=A24I3T3i&p_lva=689&p_faqid=656&p_created=1078530431&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9ncmlkc29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTImcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD01LXdheSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPTMmcF9wcm9kX2x2bDE9fmFueX4mcF9jYXRfbHZsMT1_YW55fiZwX3NvcnRfYnk9ZGZsdCZwX3BhZ2U9MQ**&p_li=
(which doesn't talk about later devices.)

I'm trying to add the "One Hand Mode" functionality to my program
(pFuel) and I need some advices.
Since I want my program to run on Palm IIIxe as on Treo with the same
functionality. I'm trying to replicate some features of the Treo
such as the fnav.
Is there a way to highlight a button to show which of the one in the
form will be selected when you push a button for the Palm OS 3.2 ?
It's not clear to me which button you would use, since
On the Treo you can have a blue border around button when you navigate
between the buttons.
