In C code with prc-tools or CodeWarrior, you can just do a multicharacter constant, e.g. 'Palm'. To go the other way, something like
StrPrintF(buffer, "%c%c%c%c", (char)(FourCC >> 24), (char)(FourCC >> 16), (char)(FourCC >> 8), (char)(FourCC)); I'm not sure of the order off the top of my head -- you may need reverse the order of parameters to get the correct form.
