Okay, it works for beaming from one to the. Thanks.

Here's another related question:

I performed the FtrGet() function to see if the New Serial Manager is installed. It appears that it is not because the value parameter returned 0. Shouldn't it be in PalmOS 5.2.1? Do I need to load a library? There's gotta be something really basic I'm missing here.

I know this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find it in
the archives...

How do I set up Garnet simulator to test the IR port using serial
manager? I remember reading a post some time ago but couldn't find it
after searching for hours. I think it had something to do with running
2 instances of the simulator along with tweaks to the communications
settings, but that's all I remember.

Upon opening the port using SrmOpen(), I get the error #770. I don't
get the error on my actual handheld. It just times out (no connecting
device) but I assume that the port opens okay. Just not on the
simulator.

Helpful suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

Right click on the Simulator.
Select Settings->Communication->Communicationports...
In the 'Communication Ports" window select Infrared and Edit...
Set the Transport Type to TCP/IP and Bound to: to localhost:6417 (or some
other port).

Do the same with a second instance of the simualator and you should be
able to beam from one to the other.
