Not to comment on the PSI quality, but have you considered an alternative, such as the Pilot Catapult (nor branded as Install Expert)? It has a few new features that improve on what you have listed here, namely it can install directly* to the card , files of any type and extension. At any rate it is likely better to use a stock installer than writing your own. Just choose one that's actively supported so that whenever you come across a valid issue it will be addressed in a prompt manner.
