Try doing a zero-out reset of the device as described at http://mytreo.net/treofaq/Treo650Resetting. I think the debug build stores NVFS files differently, which is the cause of your error.

I installed a debug rom onto my T650 and it killed it. Everytime I reset T650, it shows a blue screen fatal alert, "MSFSCheck.c, Lin:382, second run of CheckFATFS should not have modified anything". If I choose Reset, T650 resets and shows this alert again and the keypad is dead. I can not choose any option, Debug, Reset... the debug rom build comes as a zip file. I unzipped it and copied the whole folder, Palm, onto the SD card and overwrote the Palm folder on the card. then, I hard reset the T650 and put the SD card into it.
