I think it's a really personal matter. Some people really love
CodeWarrior and would hate PODS if they had to switch to it.
While I started using PODS because it was a free download at
a time when CodeWarrior was not available. Except for the
heavy Java vibe, I find PODS to be made of familiar Unixy
technology that I've been living and breathing for a long
time. It's a really imperfect system, but so far I've found
every single time that when it doesn't work right, I can
fix it or find an easy workaround.

Since you've been having so much trouble with PODS, why
not spring for the -- what was it, about 400? -- and try
CodeWarrior. You might find you really like it. It's
so much more reasonably-priced that other commercial
development kits I've run across, and just a fraction
of the cost of a one year subscription to MSDN. Based
on comments I've read here, it is in general much less
problematic than PODS. (Which is not to say you won't
encounter, shall I say, "challenges" using it.)

I really wish I had a 30-day demo or something like that
of CodeWarrior, so that I could actually compare it to
PODS without investing the full $400.
