Simulating SMS events with treo simulator

hi, 
i want to simulate SMS sending and receiving on treo700p simulator. 
i using treo700p garnet simulator. i attempted to connect to the virtual phone 
but it does'nt get connected. is there any other way other than virtual phone 
to do the same.
