One reason that may not be sufficient is for apps which want to detect the
capability and utilize the space for specific forms even without the user
explicitly changing the size. Luc did use the wording:

Which leads me to believe this would be the case in this app.
In the right context, that behavior could well be reasonable, especiallly if the
form has no fields or popups with incremental search enabled, etc.
Precisely, I do it for the cave map or the list of survey shots, both
without form input, just a small line of display controls
