As palm OS 5 uses NVFS for storing in flash, I read in various articles that whenever a sector has to be written in flash it has to be erased first . Due to this NVFS has taken approach to mark sector for delete and write data into another sector, I am curious on when the marked sectors get erased completely?

Is it possible to read get a dump of complete flash drive? I want to see what data is retained even after a db is deleted or device is hard reset.
