Enabling On-Device Debugging With CW and HotSync 6.x

Device: HotSync Manager 6.x
Released: 17 January 2006
Updated: 17 January 2006

Keywords: Debugging, CodeWarrior, USBPort.dll

Q:

Since I installed the new Treo 650 Palm Desktop on my Windows system,
I can no longer debug my application using CodeWarrior over the USB
port. What went wrong?

A:

To fix this, copy the file USBPort.dll (On Windows XP, this resides in
\Windows\System32) to your Program Files\palmOne or Program Files\Palm
folder and restart CodeWarrior. You must do this after every new Palm
Desktop installation.

Also, make sure that the device is in console mode. You'll know that
the device is in console mode when the last pixel in the lowest right
corner of the screen is blinking.

 Ben,

 when I pose the question
"how can I debug the TX using the usb port"

 I get the response:

"Re: Treo 300 hotsync stack size "

what's the question to be asked as I too am having problems debugging the
 TX.

I'm using CW under windows 2000

 Thanks
