Speaker disabled when microphone opened on the Treo 680

Does anyone have information regarding changes to the speaker/microphone 
changes in the Treo 680 stream library?

When I use SndStreamCreate to open both the speaker and microphone, 
nothing can be heard on the speaker.  If I just open the speaker then 
all is well.

This only applies to the Treo 680.
