Hi Danny Thanks for that, I understand you response & really appreciate the code snippet, I probably should have been more specific.
If I wanted to do something at 5:00pm everyday like 1. SMS a summary of incoming calls to my boss or 2. Turn the phone off or 3. Calculate the cost of the days outgoing calls I know how to do each of these tasks. What I am not certain about doing - Is the best way to make it happen at 5:00pm or 5:30pm or 6:00pm (or whatever time the user has configured that this should occur). I am wondering if there Is a "new" way of registering for a notification that I can say should occur at a specific time eg 5:00pm. or Do I need to poll my program every minute (which I dont think is the correct way to do this on a Treo) or Something else completely different to the two above I have not considered. This is a process I would call a batch process (this is a very old computer term, the language I learned after C was Cobol & batch processing was mainly what cobol was used to do on IBM mainframes). I want something to happen at a particular time :D TIA NG -- For information on using the PalmSource Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
