No, MAKEOPTS shouldn't be changed at all. Unfortunately, leaving users to suffer for their own mistakes just results in far too much time wasted on duff bug reports. If you *really* want, use --jobs instead of -j. It won't be filtered. -- Ciaran McCreesh
