Thanks it is much better now. 
Nonetheless  'cave resolve --complete world' wants to rebuild all scm 
packages. 
I can solve this by calling  'cave resolve --complete world -R never'.

Is there anything like $PALUDIS_OPTIONS for cave that can be used to change 
default behaviour? Like to always use --complete to resolve dependences and 
not to rebuild scm?
