Subject: [Papermodels II 31944] Mark Twain Riverboat build.
I have finally finished the Canon Mark Twain Disneyland Riverboat.
Attached are some pictures.
The boat is 19inches from bow to paddlewheel when finished. The parts
come on 31 pages printed out and the Instructions are 12 pages when printed.
This is a very complicated model and not for the faint of heart to
build. The instruction are both written and with pictures but both leave you
scratching your head at times. Especially on building the hull and main deck.
The instructions just say "glue #1 to #2. The picture does not show any detail
about doing this.
MANY of the parts are very small and take some time to cut out, fold,
hold and glue.
The key to anyone who wants to built this model, take EXTRA time to
make sure you have the hull and main deck fitted properly and LEVEL across. All
the stairways fitting into the 2nd, and 3rd decks depends on all being EXACTLY
level. If the main deck is off, they all are off.
Much of the interior parts of the decks are not visable on the finished
model unless you get in there with a flashlight and tip the model around
different ways. You will know they aren't there but most everyone who looks at
it will not.
IT IS a beautiful model when finished though and if you like building
intericate fulley detailed models, then go for it but set aside at least a 40
to 50 hour building time.
