This would be good in theory, but I'm not sure it would work. Most of them 
are pretty wet when you first apply them, and some can discolor paint on 
walls so I imagine they will do the same to ink. How much they expand 
depends on the brand as well as what it is for. There is the fact that most 
of them are toxic, so may not be a good idea for kids toys. There is also a 
chance the ink or chemicals in the paper can react with the foam and deflate 
it. You could always experiment on a free model that you can print out a 
bunch of.
