Not seen it reported previously, but www.papership.de has its 2009 calendar available. This, for us paper ship modellers, is a very welcome surprise, because, as I recall, last year the site was hacked and the group announced they would not produce one this year. Happily they must have changed their mind. The calendar is up to its usual high standard. Reviewing the images, I find them at once uplifting and depressing. Uplifting, because they show just how good ship models can be: depressing, because for some they will wonder if they will ever be that good as modellers. But I'm sure the calendar contributors would all just say to take each part slowly, giving each as much time as it takes to get it right, and you, too, can produce high-quality models.
The highlights, for me, are Reinhard Lachmann's Flora and Snow Flower, and Wilfried Wieczorek's Planet. Only criticism, if you can call it that: surely there was another picture that could be found to avoid two of similar vessels: the Clyde puffers Starlkight and Skylight. Well done!
