I just pulled copies of both the grey and uncolored versions down, and
they're fine. There's also a link (which I just discovered is broken)
to Jon Leslie's repaint of the X-M to a Flash Gordon rocket. The
correct link for that version is:

I'd be curious to learn where you found the messed up versions.
