Ed, the "print shot screen thingy" on my laptop won't work either. But as a workaround I go to into Start, Programs, Accessories, Accessibility, On Screen Keyboard. The PSC button there prints the screen fine. I just slide the whole OnScreen Keyboard down to the lower left corner with the PSC button just peeking out and get a 98% clear screen shot. When saved in Paint or other graphics program it's simple to delete or crop out the little corner of keyboard in the screen shot.
