        Looks like they are ready to celebrate Setsubun which happens on the 
day before the start of Japanese spring (February 4th, this year). You 
throw beans, then pick up and eat the number corresponding to your age 
and chase the Oni (demons) out (the second image was of a child's Oni 
horns headband and the meal below is a traditional roll eaten during the 
celebration).
