This is a mighty fine model! I have at least one in the build line after the Dh2 before I can get to it myself. That's OK though. What to use as the support for the spine is going to take some research.
Wood dowel will eventually warp. PVC pipe will have some sag-probably the same with an acrylic rod. I'm thinking some sort of metal tube like copper, brass, steel, aluminum. Might be able to use all paper. Maybe a paper tube with a vertical and horizontal support running all the way through.
