When I was there in '89, my relatives took me through Beverly Hills and I
noticed several large mansions being torn down. I asked them if this was
quake damage to which they responded:
"Oh no, that's what's popular now...tearing down these little slums and
putting up nice, BIG houses."

"A fool and his money...." (Or should that be," A government and my
money....?")
