I also remember seeing this aircraft in Popular Mechanics or Popular Science. I vaguely remember the issue was called "Future Los Angeles Skyline". Or "Tomorrows Traffic Solution". I remember the vehicle in Popular Mechanics/Science looked exactly like the Whispercraft VTOL vehicle in 6th day. I do remember seeing the magazine after 6th Day came out in 2000.
I eventually found the artists that did the CG renderings for the Popular Mechanics/Science issue. I regret not bookmarking it. I can't find it anymore. The current CG cover artist doesn't have a webpage so I'm not sure if the current artist did the renderings of the Wishpercraft like vehicle. If anybody remembers the exact issue Mechanics or Science please let us know. The renderings were pretty cool.
