Thanks for the suggestion Jon. I've just done the head and top chest piece and
was thinking about the legs.

It's coming along really well. I'm really happy with it and discovering that
bigger is not always better. Man handling the thing is going to get more and
more difficult. :P

Just a query on your suggestion, Jon.  What exactly do you mean by nesting
straws. Do you mean like a piece of paper that has been rolled up tight, then
one end pulled out? I'll want to put something in the legs that will help keep
them solid and was thinking of putting something similar to many rolled tubes
in there to stop them from bending sideways.

Anyway, here is a couple of "head shots".  LOL  My husband is the person inside
the head - and he's 6' tall.

PS  I'm using 100gm paper. My printer at work won't take card. :(

use thick paper, and make lots of nesting paper straws.  on the inside you
attach the male of one straw to one side, the female to some place on the
opposite inside wall, and then telescope the straws so that each side is
properly supported, then a dot of glue to lock the straws in place.

I am currently printing out the St Bernard from Canon at 4 x 4 pages to one A4
page.  That's um... lots and lots of pages!  :)

I'm hoping that he stands as tall as a youngish puppy of the breed and will
post pictures as I go.  I'm planning on doing a bit of gluing tonight, seeing
as I'm back at the theatre doing backstage in a couple of nights.

I take my dares seriously. mwaa ha ha ha ha
