I found a means of mounting the fingers that works well for me. In step 51 (see below) I glued a strip of card colored to match the skin over all those tabs at the open end of the hand. Then I removed the single tab on each of the fingers and simply butt-glued the fingers onto that strip.

While I was at it, and since Buffy didn't want to stand up for me, I made a very simple base and glued her bootsoles to it.
