I don't know for sure how that happens but it would seam to be related to speed. I'm not sure on which end. It would appear that if an E-mail is taking too long to be processed that the pictures are stripped off to speed up the process. When my ISP is slowed down by traffic or my computer is packed with Cookies I'll start loosing pictures. I usually delete all of the cookies, temp files etc. and sometimes it helps.
