The doctor that did mine uses a set-up that can remove polyps and repair 
other issues during the procedure, so I'd rather just go ahead and let my 
dignity be bruised and get it over with.  Fortunately, I had no issues, in 
spite of my family history.

I've read in several places recently that ultrasound is at least as
effective, if not more so, in spotting colorectal problems than
colonoscopy/sigmoidoscopy. I think it's less fun for the doctors,
though. <G>
