For Windows users, anyway; it was mentioned at LifeHacker.com this morning.
SumatraPDF is freeware (actually a beta), very compact at onl 1.4 Megabytes *installed* and seems to be pretty quick. It lacks all the bells and whistles of Foxit reader and Adobe reader, but I kinda like that about it.
