Philippe's is seriously awesome. I always try to take friends there.
After AX it has become a tradition to take my Volunteer crew out to
there. They are 100 years old and in LA that is totally amazing. In a
city with no traditions and few businesses which last more than a few
years, Philippe's with the communal seating, sawdust on the floor and
counter girls in the same design uniform they wore in the 20's is made
of awesome. Right by Little Tokyo, too.
