Deb, What you could try is, clean the scratch out, with some very fine grit sand paper(wet/dry works well) then clean it with clean water and acetone, and then apply thick Super Glue or Crystal Clear watch glue, and then when the glue is dried, take the sand paper and knock down the peaks, and when it feels like it is smooth, get some polishing compound and buff it out.
