First welcome to the hobby! Thats an awful lot of paper you want to have on hand! Typically when you need thicker cardboard for making formers and whatnot you can just use stuff like cereal boxes, backs of notebooks or you can take you cardstock and laminate it together until you reach the thickness you need. Remember when cutting formers you can usually gauge the thickness of cardstock you need by measuring the slots in other formers that fit together (its quite often listed on them model too)
