Copyright is copyright. Doesn't matter if it doesn't exist anymore, as it's still copyrighted to the owner. (Beethoven's music is still copyrighted, but to the distributors)
If it's for public display, it's a no go. If it's advertising material, just remove any logos, and then you can go for it - but don't use it for advertising. The graphic designer owns the design of the advertisement. :/ I *hate* copyright discussions...
