No, I DO NOT feel that sanding joints to smooth them out prior to touch-up by using either, paint, crayon, colored pencil or ink marker is violating any "rules" purity. I don't think using putty or any other medium to make the model fit YOUR need for satisfaction is wrong either. For me, this is a HOBBY that I enjoy, and those I give the models to also enjoy them. To me I look upon my models as an IMPRESSION of the airplane, car or animal I am making. It is not a musem piece, it's just a model. It is created shared, printed and assembled with a lot of detail, but still just a model. Bob D...
