Hello, everyone, As usual, I did the SCPMC* fan table at ConDor 20 this month, and had a great time with it in spite of having very little to put on display. Attendance was up, nearly double what it was last year, and there was a LOT more interest in the paper models than ever before.
I need some help for the next one! David Okamura started the thing and "recruited" me to be a partner in crime, but circumstances have kept David out of the picture the last couple of years, leaving me flying solo, and with only my own model builds to display. Work has kept me busy enough that my model-building time has diminished to nearly zero (and my admitted procrastination has finished the job). This year I had only two models on display, neither of them new builds. I did assemble a few quick builds while there, but I find that people are reluctant to approach me while I'm wielding a very sharp knife, and there were enough people visiting the table to prevent much assembly in any case. If there were two of us there, one building and one talking, as David and I have done in past years, I think it would be much better all around. Now, I know there aren't many of us in the San Diego area, or willing/able to be in the area for three days in March, who are also willing to bring in their own builds for display and possible give-away**, but I'm offering an incentive: I will pay for your ConDor membership for the three days, and at least one good meal.
