Thanks, Doug, but I did try that and still get the blocks of solid white raster data. I did find a plug-in for Illustrator that will let me select all the raster data in one go, so at least I have an improved workaround now. It also lets me grab all the clipping masks that accompany the raster blocks.
I just wish I could remember how I got Pepakura to omit the raster data the one time, though!
