I was looking for a quick model to finish before moving back to the Fury and found this from streetpaper.de. Having been, in the past, a long time Landrover owner I thought it would be nice to build this little Series 1 short wheel base. A great little build although with a couple of minor inconsistencies at least from a Landrover nut like me's point of view. The grill at the front has vertical bars rather than the crosshatch of the real thing and the wheels are too small and too wide but small errors, the model is accurate to put together and looks pretty good finished. Landrovers are great vehicles that can take an unbelievable amount of punishment and abuse but ask anyone who has had to work on them as I did for 30 years and they will tell you that the owner develops a love/hate relationship with them. They can be the most diabolical piece of machinery to work on, things are hard to get to and at times they are almost working against you while you try to rebuild/fix/repair bits and pieces but they will go anywhere even though they are uncomfortable, heavy and noisy. Love 'em.
