I've been a busy busy this year with one thing and another and cardmodels have taken a back seat. However the weekly visits to old mate PICNIC have continued and little by little the Fury M4 has been progressing. Today I managed to get one track on, boy are they a horror show !. Each track has 110 grousers on it and each one has to be cut, folded, trimmed and then glued on so it's taking a while.
I've done about 5/6 of the second track and hopefully once that's done it's only a hatch, a head and a few other bits and pieces before the whole thing is completed. PICNIC is building one for himself and two more for his grand kids so he reckons he'll be in a home for the deranged by the time he fits all the track grousers. If anyone builds this don't do what I did...that is to build the whole thing in 150gsm card, build the hull out of 200 or better because the hull isn't quite strong enough in 150 and the road wheels and top sag inwards. Not a problem with the top as the turret covers that problem but the road wheels tend to pop inwards at the top and the only way to straighten them back out is with the track. This means gluing the track on to the road wheels and holding the whole rig until it dries...tedious !. Nice model though all in all.
