Dear group,
For quite a long time, I have posted very few messages. Paper modeling in
general no longer playes a big role
in my life, like it did some ten or twelve years ago.
But after receiving another great email from people like Bob Penikas, along
with some stunning pictures, I just
felt the need to put him in the foreground and give him praise for all the
hard work.
For many, many years, Bob has been the most consistent modeler to upload
pictures of his work, for our
eyes to feast on.
Actually, his regular upload of his work is a constant reminder for me to
stay active in the paper model world.
People still build paper models and since paper modeling became much more
easily accessible thanks to
internet, the quality of the drawings have improved, as well. With a growing
number of clients the need for
more and better models grew. I think the internet has been a useful addition
to the world of paper modeling.
Where paper models were rarely available for free, before internet, the
digital version of our hobby has made
a huge variety of many free models availabe to anyone with an internet
connection and a printer.
One of those people who uses that privilege to the max is Bob. There are
MANY paper modelers out there, some
of them are truly fanatic. But to me, Bob simply stands out. He builds a
large variety of models. Anything that
flies, sails, runs, moves, drives and what else..... He builds it all.
AND...... he shares his work with us on a regular
basis. And if I remember correctly, he sometimes gives his models away.
Beautiful gesture. Beautiful models, too.
He really builds them with care and attention and it shows.
Bob Penikas is not the only one I wish to thank. There are many others out
there who make this great forum
possible and are trying hard to keep it up and running and healthy.
Big thanks to you all.
Please join me, raise your glass and say cheers to Bob !!
