The shingles were left alone; just as printed.  There was a time constraint 
otherwise
burnishing or adding separate shingles from a second printed parts sheet 
certainly
will enhance the model.

Bob, Maurice, for what it's worth, I found some notes from the model's
designer in my collection, which suggest that it's scaled for HO-sized
model railway layouts.  That's 1/87th scale, or 3.5mm/foot, if you
prefer.  Hope that helps...
