Dear PAPY-list members,
We are pleased to announce the second volume of Trismegistos Online
Publications, which can be downloaded for free from today onwards
at
http://www.trismegistos.org/top.php
H. Verreth, A survey of toponyms in Egypt in the Graeco-Roman
period, Version 1.0 (September 2008) (Trismegistos Online
Publications 2), Köln / Leuven 2008, 893 pp.
You will probably need a recent version such as Acrobat Reader 8.0 or 9.0
for the links to the Trismegistos Places-database to be
clickable.
This tool, which provides alphabetical and geographical surveys of
toponyms currently found in the Trismegistos-Places database (
http://www.trismegistos.org/geo/index.php), is a snapshot of work in
progress. As such it concentrates for the time being on toponyms in Greek
and Latin. The Demotic toponyms are currently being integrated, and the
inclusion of Coptic toponyms is planned for the not too distant
future.
