Hi all, hi Robey, On Friday, October 9th, Toshio Kuratomi said:

I'd just like to second this: can we please get a quick bugfix release out and up on PyPI? :) I've mentioned as much in a few other places in the past (the bug report / Github) but I work on the Fabric project, and the exception-throwing issue especially affects all of my users, current and future. A number of folks, including myself, have verified that the submitted patch for this issue fixes the problem without any apparent negative side-effects, and it's a pretty severe problem for those affected by it. The lack of a fix (and the fact that Paramiko 1.7.4 doesn't seem to be up on PyPI) is a factor delaying the next version of Fabric. The other factor is that I've been overhauling the docs, and those docs right now have scary red warnings all over them saying "for the love of God, don't use easy_install, Paramiko 1.7.5 has a nasty bug! Do all this manual stuff instead!". This makes both projects look bad, and that saddens me. I've even considered switching requirements to a forked version of Paramiko just so people can easy_install Fabric, but I'd rather not as that seems kind of drastic :) Thanks, Jeff F. _______________________________________________ paramiko mailing list [email protected] http://www.lag.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/paramiko
