When I started writing these papers, I vowed to withhold nothing. In Ancient China, my teachings were divided into two categories, the exoteric and the esoteric. All sincere seekers were taught the exoteric teachings. Only the chosen few were advanced to the esoteric teachings. As time passed I became dissatisfied with this system. I saw that those admitted to the esoteric teachings became arrogant and obnoxious.They thought they were head and shoulders above those not selected for advanced training. I could see that something had to be done. I was going to reveal the esoteric teachings to all of my students, but unfortunately I died before I could put my plan into action. I ask you this, if a teaching is true, and a benefit to all mankind, what is the need for secrecy ? Why not make such teachings available to everyone ? This seems logical to me.
I notice that most Mystery schools, even today , retain secret teachings for their more "Advanced " Students. More advanced because they donate large amounts of money to the cause. You will never find a poor person privy to the inner circle teachings. This time things will be different. I have knowledge of both the exoteric and esoteric teachings of Taoism. Having taught them a long time gone. I do not ask for your money. . My teachings are not for sale. They are there for the benefit of all. And yet, they are not available to everyone. The majority will pass them by." What ! A 24 year old girl, a librarian living in small town Indiana, a Taoist Teacher ? Nonsense ! " And they move on. The very nature of my teachings weed out those who having eyes, see not, having ears, hear not. Only those who are ready will answer the call to the heights. That's the way it is. Now, the point of all of this. What I didn't get done in Ancient China, I will do now. I plan to post both exoteric and esoteric teachings for the benefit of all. Those who are ready will find their way to them. May you find them a blessing.
