That seems to be a bug in the 3D widget code.

ParaView itself is capable of cutting the data with the following Python

plane1.Normal = [1,0,0]
plane1.Origin = [7.5e18, 7.5e18, 7.5e18]
cut.CutFunction = plane1

repCut = servermanager.CreateRepresentation(cut, view)/
If the same operation is done via the GUI, ParaView crashes immediately.
Are the developpers aware of that?
